Vikings QB Jake Browning Gets a ‘Shot’ At Starting Quarterback After Getting Vaccinated

Browning gets vaccinated and is now the starting quarterback. A reverse doping scandal?

On July 31, 2021 Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said that three out of four quarterbacks for the Minnesota Vikings were on the COVID list after backup quarterback Kellen Mond tested positive. Given NFL COVID rules, all players that had close contact must self-isolate. The only exception was fourth string quartebrack Jake Browning.

Zimmer appeared frustrated at the fact that the majority of Vikings quarterbacks were not vaccinated prior to camp. Zimmer went on to say that Browning was “really smart … he’s vaccinated.” The vaccination will now allow Browning to get a shot at the starting quarterback position while Kirk Cousins, Kellen Mond, and Nate Stanley remain out based on NFL COVID rules.

Who knew that Browning would get a ‘shot’ at the starting quarterback position after taking the COVID vaccination ‘shot’? Zimmer probably won’t say Browning is “smart” if he ruins his chance at staying on the roster with a poor performance in camp as a partial starter. Maybe the vaccination will turn out to be one of the worst decision Browning ever made!
