Assistant Ramsey County Attorney Steven Pfaffe, known as the “Ramsey County Rapist,” audaciously asserted that three women, who coincidentally were Minneapolis City Attorneys with close ties to his office, who confessed to “fabricating” multiple police reports originating from their own phones or telemarketers, could not face prosecution.
Meanwhile, the man they accused, but had never met prior to the hoax, had to endure a year of brutal torture as a direct result of the women’s actions, which Pfaffe was responsible for carrying out.
During the legal case, Pfaffe deliberately suppressed evidence that showed the women’s admissions. Furthermore, the statute he utilized was declared unconstitutional on First Amendment grounds, and this ruling conveniently came out a day after Pfaffe’s torture came to an end.
