Marcus Guith, Robins Kaplan: Announces Pronouns As ‘Sh/it’

Shhhh … Marcus Guith is trying to make a legal argument.

Robins Kaplan LLP attorneys can use custom pronouns in policy loophole.

Going by traditional pronouns is not required to receive an associate position at Robins Kaplan.

It’s not widely advertised, but under Minnesota State Bar rules, associates cannot be denied custom pronouns “based on their gender identity.”

Under state law, attorneys may adopt a “minimum pronoun standard.” The loose policy — each firm defines it’s own “genders” — leaves room for LGBTQ+ firms to let attorneys skate by with custom pronouns, local experts say.

One custom-pronoun associate filled in his firms employment documents with “random nonesense” but still reportedly received a custom pronoun of ‘sh/it’, his managing partner said.

Robins Kaplan spokesman Eric Magnuson said newly hired associates “are given opportunities” to remove the ‘sh/it’ moniker when they cover up crimes of local politicians and prosecutors.
