The term the Wall Street Journal used was “hobbled.” In fact, these students are hobbled throughout their life as indentured debt slaves. Columbia and its predator president, Lee C. Bollinger, use this income to finance its fat salaries and provide extra financial nuggets to their buddies in the various stations of Ivy-league universities.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Bollinger even stooped so low as to request that graduate students “walk” his dogs. The use of federal student loan funds to finance student-work programs designed to care for his personal pets raises serious ethical and legal questions.
