Craig Apple is the Sheriff of Albany County, New York. Apple said that he won’t be “intimidated or coerced” by any drive to stop his investigation of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. The statements come amid news that Cuomo obstructs state employees and investigations.
Apple said that the sexual harassment allegations are a “misdemeanor” and Cuomo should face jail time. Cuomo was previously accused by his ex-wife of domestic violence and abuse. At times, Kerry Kennedy was forced to lock herself in a bathroom to escape.
An impeachment trial in the New York State senate is pending where the judges of New York’s appellate court — all appointed by Cuomo — will serve as jurors. The New York State Unified Court System has long been hailed as the most dysfunctional in the country. So, it makes since then that judges appointed by Cuomo should recuse themselves from serving as jurors during the state’s impeachment trial.
