Infamous Hollywood actor Johnny Depp scored a major victory in his legal battle against his ex-wife Amber Heard. A New York judge granted a petition to force the American Civil Liberties Union to release information in connection with Heard’s alleged $7 million dollar divorce settlement donation. In other words, Depp is painting Heard as a liar.
Previously, Heard claimed she donated the money to at least two (2) charities that purportedly support #metoo based causes and legal access for women. During litigation, however, Depp now claims that Heard, in fact, never donated the funds. Instead, keeping them for her personal use.
It is unclear whether Heard made the donation statements on-the-record during any hearing or made the claims through her attorneys. In either case, it is a significant win for Depp as he continues forward with litigation.
